During these times, parenting concerns often arise. Parents seek new skills, support and guidance. Loss & Grief There are many different losses we may experience in life, including the death of a loved one, divorce or end of a significant relationship, infertility, job loss, miscarriage and major life transitions.
Pregnancy & Postpartum Struggles Planning for a baby and becoming a parent brings about many different emotions. Women and couples may feel uncertain, irritable, overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, and/or isolated.
Therapeutic Orientation:
I favor a client-centered and strength-based therapeutic approach to counseling. I work with clients to assess current strengths within the context of themselves, family, and culture to create positive changes in their lives. I also may utilize tools from a cognitive-behavioral approach. I believe it is valuable to gain understanding and insight into our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in order to alter undesirable outcomes. I encourage clients to learn more about themselves and strive to empower them to grow and overcome challenges.
